Even Cheerleaders Get Depressed…right?

My husband changes lives – for the better. He was meant to see 60 patients a day. It makes him happy. He loves to hear stories of how chiropractic has changed someone’s life.

Yesterday, I was tired. I was sad that my husband was not doing what he is meant to do. Yesterday was a hard day.

Luckily, my friend Ellen, who is a Coach picked me up. She asked me what it would take to get me “off the edge”. Just 3 new patients that need our help.

This morning a friend of Barbara’s (Rumors Hair Salon) made a new patient appointment. Today, I encouraged David to write an article on the difference between workout pain and an injury – we gave it to a trainer that was asking for articles – she was very happy. Another trainer e-mailed me to join forces with him. I sent in our bios for Festival Trees. A patient today encouraged us to contact one of her relatives who is a Dr. and may want to refer back and forth.

Today I became our biggest cheerleader again – thanks Ellen!

I Think We’ve Met…and Met…and Met

Updates from previous posts and results:

Contacted a specific company (heck they won’t post my name, I ‘m not posting their name) to post our new business opening. Because our business may infringe on their benefit’s package they were unable to post.

I have tried contacting Tuscany Apts. by phone and their site e-mail – no response. Will try again.

Include our events on our web page – done. Now if only someone would look at it.

E-mail updates, newsletters etc. yes I’m doing – you haven’t marked me as spam yet?

Yes, I’m putting myself out there, trying to get to know people through Meetups and Leads Groups and Chamber events. The problem, I’m meeting the same people over and over. A lot of the people are sales people in the same boat as I.

David has met with other Chiros and Lawyers in the surrounding area – some of these leads look promising.

To say we are a wee depressed would not be an understatement. We really do love to help others. We are meant to facilitate healing in others. When we help others we really help ourselves – right now we need some serious healing!

Here are the plans for the rest of this week, I’ll let you know the progress:

Postcards for Boo at the Zoo Oct 23-25th, Sandwich Sign with different panels, depending on our focus, Car Magnets (we should have by now), Viera Crafts Fair, Festival of Trees and many more group meetings where I’ll run into you!

Networking, E-mailing, Stripteasing and Coaching

Sounds like I’m dating again, well it feels like it too! Here’s the status on each of the wonderful ideas we’ve been given:

Last night we went to a networking event at Vintage 56, the restaurant seemed very nice. We walked in and it was so crowded that there is no way people could have a conversation. After a long day we decided to turn around and leave. Dating equivalent: Meat Market

2 People recommended we contact Tuscany Apts. I called, even had a contact name, no response. So I filled up their Contact Us window on their web page with our October Events. I’ll keep you posted. Dating equivalent: Cold Shoulder for Desperate Broad

E-mailed out our Newsletter and October Events to everyone we have received a business card from. Tomorrow I will e-mail the workshops that we have available to do on-location. Got a few nice responses, no appts. Dating equivalent: Let’s Be Friends

Contacted all of the retirement communities in the area, a few were very interested in the workshops we are offering. I’ll e-mail each of them our bios and list tom. I’ll follow up Monday ready to book! Dating equivalent: Showing Off the Goods

David is really enjoying meeting new people at networking events. He is becoming quite the speaker. So far no patients have resulted or referrals. Dating equivalent: Fun To Hang Out With, Not Worth Dating

Today I attended a great Harvest Brunch held in Sonoma. I met some interesting women, including a Nurse Practitioner who I will follow up with. The party included a Striptease workout, which was very fun. Dating Equivalent: Girls Just Wants to Have Fun

Met with the Mars/Venus Coach, I must have needed someone to talk with because I don’t remember breathing for about 5 mins. She was very kind and helped me brainstorm on how to get more leads. Mostly she made feel insecure about my 3 month goal. I will continue to explore this option. I am really nervous about the cost especially with us keeping our expenses down. Lastly, and the most productive thing I did today. Walked over to Rumors. They are AWESOME!!!!!! They are always trying to help me out. Allison mentioned her TMJ so I ran back to the office and got the Cold Laser. Resulted in 3 solid leads and 1 appt. Dating equivalent: Got Lucky!

Slowly but Surely…

We started off the morning with a New Members of the Chamber meeting. About 200 very happy, well spoken ready to sell people in a board room. A bit intimidating. I plan to contact each person that we received a business card from by e-mail, check out the responses and call. I like the idea about learning about other businesses and helping them find people who need them, real networking. I’ve added about 20 more events to my PDA for October.
I sent in my Mars/Venus Assessment – pretty straight forward questions. A few made me think. I am looking forward to meeting the coach next week – she knows how to get on my good side, she complemented me on being on top of filling it out and returning promptly.
Tonight I went to a Brevard Business Mom’s Meetup at Kidzone. Jus Cowland is the organizer – she is a wonderful person, very intelligent and very creative. Check her out at: www.juscowlandphotography.com She did give me an earful on linking my Blog to my website. I am giving her group http://www.meetup.com/BrevardBusinessMoms/ two thumbs up! Jus also left a TON of ideas on this Blog to grow A Better Way Wellness – to be honest I opened up her post and closed it after a brief reading. I’m exhausted, I have a workshop tom. morning and I can’t start on her list until Monday. I’m still committed to try ing everything that is thrown my way and reporting honestly on the outcome.

Suggestions, possibly sales pitches…

Today David is attending 3 networking events! For someone who 10 years ago was nervous to speak in front of others, I’m impressed! Not only is he able to speak to anyone, I believe that his sincerity really shines through!
Here are the suggestions I received yesterday to grow our business:
1. Mars/Venus Coaching, including a free session.
2. Car wrap, Building wrap and Banners.
3. We were referred to a family member who is a retired Chiropractor who may have some ideas for us.
Well, I said I would try different things, so here is what I am going to commit to do: 1. I will contact the Mars/Venus Coach and I will let you know how the Free Session goes.
2. I am currently working with the fabulous Patty of signs2go in Melbourne. She did our window vinyl for the office and our banner. So, I love her ideas but I have to pass until we reach the 3 month profitable goal to do such large scale printing.
3. My friend Maria that is passing my name on – of course I’ll speak with someone in the profession who is retired. This reminds me of utilizing Score.

My husband and I set a goal of meeting at least 5 people per day and giving them our business cards. It was late yesterday and although he made his goal, I was behind by about 8 (I owed 3 from the previous day). We decided to go to our open air mall. I had a great time I got 2 pairs of shoes and 3 dresses all for under $150! Today I am up to 13 cards to hand out.

Postmaster not happy with us…

So we decided to save money and instead of doing a mailing we made a 1/2 page flyer with our office information and September events. In the Florida weather, my husband and 2 kids clipped on to mailboxes 1,200 flyers. We also introduced ourselves to anyone that was outside and willing to talk to us. A few days later, we noticed that the US Govt. was on our caller ID. Us, being the optimists that we are thought we missed a potential patient. Later that day we did get a VM, from the Postmaster, that he has been flooded with complaints and we better stop or he would have to take action against us. No, he didn’t want to be a patient.
